How Obasanjo humiliated me – Anyim, Ex-Senate president

It was meant to be a book presentation, but former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim held the audience spellbound when he began preaching about service and integrity, with a call on Nigerians to stop praying for good roads, electricity and other basic social amenities, but rather pray for righteous men to take over the governance of this country.

Quoting from the Bible, where it says “when righteous men are in position of authority, the people rejoice,” the former Senate President said those being referred to in the Bible should be the kind of leaders Nigerians should be praying for, adding that “it is after finding such people that we can talk about genuine service that will meet the need and aspirations of the people.”

Jos Killings: CP removed, as Igbo community, CAN raise question over identity of burnt victims

Jos, the capital of Plateau state and theatre of bloodletting recently is yet to overcome the trauma of the crises that hit it two weeks ago. Fear now is that drums of war are sounding again. This time the bone of contention is how to handle the dead and more. Controversy has arisen over the identity of the victims of the Jos crisis as the Igbo community on Thursday claimed sthat their kiths were among those buried in mass graves.

This is even as the youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have asked the Plateau State government to exhume all the bodies buried in mass graves for proper identification.

Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo has opened up on why he and leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry Okah currently undergoing trial for treason, are sworn enemies.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Sun, Asari-Dokubo said Henry Okah is a direct product of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s intention to discredit the struggle of the Niger Delta, divert the resources of the region and justify the building of an oil and gas free zone at Okohohnara. He alleged that Okah plotted to kill him several times and even murdered his (Dokubo’s) relations and followers.
